Studien zur Distinctionen-Literatur der romanistischen Glossatorenschule, verbunden mit Mitteilungen unedierter Texte
Graz 1956. Reprint of the Festschrift of the Berlin Faculty of Law in honour of F. v. Martitz on the occasion of his 50th doctorate-jubilee, Berlin 1911, 164 pp., oct., cloth.
After giving precise definitions, the author carries on to present the distinctions in the form of tables and continuous pointed speech. Although the knowledge then available did not enable him to provide an evolutionary history of the distinctions in glossators, the author sketched its general outline. Seckel arranges the material he gathered between 1888 and 1911 into an overall picture. The reprint provides new access to this study on the exploration of Roman Law in the Middle Ages by Seckel, the scholar of the greatest merit in this field since Savigny.
